We are a Reading School!  Reading is at the very heart of our curriculum and we are really proud of our rich Reading Curriculum.  We are passionate about ensuring every child has the toolkit to become a confident and fluent reader.  We strive to understand the individual reader identities of our pupils, ensuring that the books on our shelves cater for their reading preferences, so that they develop a love of reading.  Our Reading Curriculum is built around a variety of genres and different authors, from ‘old favourites’ to ‘new and bold’, and our children are immersed in a wide range of diverse texts across fiction, non-fiction and poetry.  The careful planning of our reading spine ensures that every child can see themselves as the main protagonist in stories, as well as developing an understanding about other cultures through the lives of characters very different to themselves.
