Enabling Environments
Focus Tasks
We have a balance of child-led and adult-led activities throughout each week. Adult led activities are carefully selected to further children's’ knowledge and skills. Adults model and use the progressive vocabulary selected by our subject specialists in school.
Independent Learning
Our children have a sustained period every morning and afternoon to participate in child-led play. Adults observe and scaffold and support children’s learning. We have a progressive vocabulary development plan for the indoor classroom, so that adults can model and encourage children to use new words.
Indoor Environment
Our indoor environments have been carefully planned so that they are a rich, stimulating and safe space that offer opportunities to play, to be, to learn and to explore.
We have provision plans in place for every area of the classroom that ensure progression of learning and vocabulary throughout a child’s EYFS journey with us. Subject leads have worked alongside us so that childrens’ KS1 and 2 learning is rooted in their EYFS journey and our children are ready for Year 1 at the end of their Reception year.
Outdoor Environment
We are proud of our amazing outdoor learning environment and have established a dynamic outdoor curriculum for our children. We have ensured that children can access age and developmentally appropriate learning opportunities that nurture children’s wellbeing, support their physical development, curiosity and language skills. We have ensured that learning outdoors is progressive as children move from nursery to reception and are proud of the peer support evident outdoors.
