Collective Worship

Collective worship is at the heart of our daily life. It is a special time when our whole school community comes together to pause, reflect, and grow in faith and friendship. This reflects our vision of “Let’s Grow Together”

Each class enter worship silently to calming music, with a candle at the front of their line to indicate the start of worship. All candles are gathered together at the front, to show how we all come together for this special time.

Worship provides an opportunity for pupils and staff to:

  • Explore Christian values and stories from the Bible.
  • Celebrate the life and teachings of Jesus.
  • Think about big questions and how we can live well together.
  • Share prayers, songs, and moments of stillness.
  • Celebrate achievements and special occasions in our school and wider community.

Collective worship takes many forms. Sometimes we gather as a whole school, or we hold a class worship. Worship is led by staff, local clergy, and pupils, who often take an active role in preparing and leading. We also enjoy welcoming parents and carers to join us for services in church at key times in the Christian year, such as Harvest, Christmas, Easter, and our Leavers’ Service.

Our aim is that worship should be inclusive, invitational, and inspiring—offering every child the chance to engage at their own level, whether through prayer, reflection, or simply by listening.

Through collective worship, we nurture spiritual growth, encourage thankfulness, and deepen our sense of community as a school rooted in Christian Values. We consider how we can “Grow Together” as rooted in our school vision.
