Science at Holy Trinity

Science has helped to form the world that we live in today, and as children grow up in an increasingly scientifically advanced world, they need to be scientifically literate to succeed.

At Holy Trinity, we believe that a high-quality science education provides the fundamental foundations for understanding the world. Our children will learn as scientists, from an early age, where they will question and investigate everything around them. We strive to excite and engage children through our hands-on science curriculum, and extend their knowledge through application and reasoning.

As children progress through school, they will begin to think independently, raise and answer their own questions, use scientific vocabulary correctly and gain confidence in the full range of working scientifically skills. Lessons teach methods of enquiry and investigations to stimulate creative thought, through practical activities and every day experiences. Children will learn about the work of famous scientists, where they will acquire and develop an understanding of the social and economic impacts of their work, with an aim to inspire our children of the future.

Our very own wildlife garden provides all of our children with first-hand experience of the natural world through study and practical care of the garden, fostering both interest and care for the environment.

Finally, we equip children with a breadth of scientific knowledge required to understand the uses and implications of science today and for the future.
