Making Coding Fun
At Holy Trinity we believe that information and communication technology is not only an integral part of the national curriculum, it’s a key skill for everyday life. Computers, tablets, programmable robots, digital and video cameras are a few tools that can be used to acquire, organize, store and present information.
We recently received a batch of ‘Codebug’ development boards from Farnell element14. These hand-held devices provide children with an early, hands-on introduction to coding and electronics. The device is shaped like a green bug, with six touch sensitive legs, push button eyes, and an LED display for a stomach. Using simple programming commands children can program the device for use as anything from a camera to a virtual pet.
Farnell element14 is a leading provider of a wide range of electronic components and hardware. They support a wide range of educational initiatives to further digital literacy and core computing skills.
