PSHE - Personal, Social, Health and Economic Education
SMSC - Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural Development
PSHE and SMSC are at the heart of everything we do at Holy Trinity. Our ethos is engrained with the skills and values detailed in our PSHE/SMSC curriculum - these skills and values are not taught discretely and in isolation but are referred to, modelled and celebrated every day in all aspects of school life.
All children have opportunities to volunteer to help others
Responsibilities such as Playground Buddies, School Council and Buddy Readers offer children the chance to help and support others and develop key social and communication skills.
All children have opportunities to reflect on their own lives and the lives of others
Every class has an area for reflection and we also have a whole-school reflective area which children visit in small groups to reflect on our half-termly Christian Values with Mrs Petrie.
All children are given opportunities to celebrate individuality and diversity
Children in years 1 and 2 were encouraged to think about how special and unique everybody is by studying the book 'Only One You.' They all agreed that even though we are all different, everybody has a talent to offer which is what makes the world so amazing.
