Carols in Ossett Town Centre

On 12th December the EOCT Choir brought some festive cheer to Ossett Town Centre by singing a number of carols to passers by.  A huge thanks to all the choir leaders for making this possible and to the children for their angelic voices.

Not Too Shoddy!
In March 2014 EOCT hosted the 'Not Too Shoddy' exhibition which showcased the official banner created by students across Ossett.  Local artist, Jason Wilsher-Mills worked with schools across Ossett to teach children about the history of Ossett and create a unique piece of art using iPads. The artwork was projected onto Ossett Town Hall during the exhibition on 19th March 2014.

The Big Build

The theme for the 2014 Big Build was the Tour de France.

Over the year a group of 4 Engineering graduates from Jacobs engineering worked in the participating EOCT schools delivering lessons and inspiring the students with visits to building sites, to really bring to life the world of engineering.

The project concluded with the Big Build Day, hosted by Ossett Academy. Each school brought along 8 students who worked in 4 different teams with the goal of constructing part of the Yorkshire Tour de France route. Workshops took place in the morning to equip the students with the skills and ideas of how to construct their chosen item. The Structures workshop also excitingly involved balancing a racing bike worth £20,000 on top of a structure made out of paper tubes (very nerve wracking for the bike owner!)
